The Bicycle in Nørrebro, a combination of photography and quirky writings will allow readers to see a place and a neighbourhood from a surprising, untraditional angle. The book conveys Jon’s subjective experience of Nørrebro (Copenhagen N) and of what it means to be part of such a complex neighbourhood through pictures of bicycles. Form and content: The book is a photographic stream of consciousness containing pictures of bikes, riders and both strange and familiar bike situations taken over the last five years: Snapshots of children biking, bike repair shops, Nørrebro winters, bike polo, touring all the bike shops and bike repair shops in the neighbourhood, and much more. All captions are in Danish and English. Jon Nordstrøm: Jon Nordstrøm is a photographer/author. Since 2008, he has published four books – several of which have won awards and nominations: Danish Tattooing (2009), Sølvpil (2010), Nordic Tattooing (2011), Danish Porn (2012).
David Bowie is a pioneering artist and performer whose career has spanned nearly 50 years and brought him international acclaim. He has sold over 140 million albums, and been cited as a major influence on contemporary artists and designers working across the creative arts. This is the first book to be granted access to Bowie’s personal archive of performance costume, ephemera and original design artwork by Bowie, and brings it together to present a completely new perspective on his creative work and collaborations. The book traces his career from its beginnings in London, through the breakthroughs of Space Oddity and Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and on to his impact on the larger international tradition of twentieth-century avant-garde art. Essays by V&A curators on Bowie’s London, image and influence on the fashion world are complemented by Christopher Frayling on film; Howard Goodall on musicology; Camille Paglia on gender and decadence; and Jon Savage on Bowie’s relationship with William Burroughs and his fans. Victoria Broackes is a curator of Theatre & Performance at the V&A. Geoffrey Marsh is Director of the V&A Theatre Collections.

"As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, this GO ISSUE is dedicated to people on the move, and those who help fashion move forward. Whether it be established talents that are headed for new roads, or newcomers that are paving their way to success. In 1998, our first issue highlighted new basics. We were amongst the first to present street styles from all around the world, Tokyo, Lisbon, L.A. or even Ibiza: the freshest and boldest looks the streets had to offer. WAD never really departed from this editorial line, simply because we love it too much; let them all tell us about the state of "crisis" we're living in every day. Enough is enough. Now's the time for dynamism and drive, creative entrepreneurs from all countries, for movement and sportswear - one of the foundations of the urbanwear we've been focusing on for the past 55 issues. Make way for action, and men of action!"

Elephant travels to Cape Town in the company of photographer Pieter Hugo gathering an explosive mix of writing, music, design and art, not to mention some highly original socio-political ideas and interesting anecdotes. Sue Hubbard looks at the career of South Africa's seminal artist William Kentridge, who is not the only seminal artist in this issue as we reassess the work (and colourful personality) of Maggi Hambling and visit the studio of France's most controversial artist, Adel Abdessemed. We then put on a diving bell to find out how Jason de Caires Taylor creates his astonishing underwater works before joining orbiting satellites to follow artists working with Google Earth.
