About the PVD Finish; the PVD process is a trade secret that uses proprietary techniques to tightly bond a substrate containing a combination of Carbon and Titanium. The process and coating uses a vacuum chamber which blasts the piece with a DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) coating. It is commonly used by Rolex and other fine watch manufacturers.
